Restructured parts of the Oxford Mail’s website to improve visitor response and usability.

  • Reorganised the site to provide a more consistent navigation and user-friendly structure.
  • Created initial designs and structure for the Entertainment section to be rolled out across the site.
  • Created the initial designs and structure for Limited Edition – a micro-site for the Oxford Times’ monthly magazine.

Centrepiece of software company Lotus’ marketing program for senior executives across Europe.

Pioneered the latest technology including content customisation and online chat.

  • Working with eBusiness Consultancy, Globebyte, edited and produced content for this blue chip site.
  • Presented the key business and technology issues through weekly briefings, in-depth strategy reports and case studies.
  • Project management responsibilites included site updates and liaison with the Lotus team.
  • For an IT company the site had to feature the latest technology. Gold included Gobebyte’s Intimate Web Commerce (IWC) engine for customer relationship management and content customisation. The site also featured Lotus’ Sametime for instant chat with members.

VSJ

VSJ was a new title devised specifically as a joint online and print publication.

It enabled recruitment advertising to go online and gave readers access to the code used in the magazine, something that wasn’t possible with the titles it replaced.

  • Devised and developed VSJ as the premium resource for developers in the UK.
  • Negotiated the funding, development and hosting of the site as a showcase for Lotus technology.
  • As publisher as well as editor-in-chief managed a multi-disciplinary team working across the website, magazine and associated conferences.
  • Initiated one of the earliest online recruitment services.

Bearpark – corporate

Bearpark was a publisher of IT magazines. The corporate site was used primarily for marketing and for registering subscriptions.

  • Led Bearpark’s development from a publisher of licensed US titles to generating its own titles – online and in print.
  • The first online presence was a corporate website used for subscription registration and marketing.
  • Later new media initiatives included online magazines, ezines, a web-based community, CD-ROM guides and a recruitment site.
